I've been in Berlin since the evening of the 25th (morning/afternoon of the 24th back in Alaska) I'm staying in the Tempelhofer section of Berlin which is in the north eastern part of Germany. I'm staying with a host family who are very friendly and welcoming, they've invited me to a lot of different events that they're going to and I'm very excited.
A very tasty sandwich I got at the Freie Universität Berlin and a medium coffee probably equal to 8 oz which is my kind of coffee |
These are the stairs I get to go up and down everyday to get to the room I'm staying at (45 steps up 3 floors!) The house is very tall and narrow. |
Even though my host family lives close to the city they have chickens and a very beautiful garden. |
They have raspberries |
And grapes |
And a peach tree. They also have 2 apple trees, 2 cherry trees, and an apricot tree, along with a green house where they have lettuce, radishes, and other vegetables |
Berlin is an extremely bike friendly town, bike lanes everywhere! There's roughly a bike for every car in the city. This is the bike my host family is kind enough to let me use while I'm here. |
This is the room where I get to stay! The bed is very comfortable, that or I'm just so exhausted from walking everywhere :) |
